MATCH CALLED OFF DUE TO HEAVY RAINFALL

At the 17th minute Otaniyi Taofeek flicked a good pass to Ubong Friday who made no mistake and slotted it into the back of the net and Rivers United led Katsina United by 1 goal to nil. The match was later called off at the end of first half due to heavy rainfall, with the score currently at 1-0.

The second half of the match was rescheduled to resume on Friday, 27th February 2025 at 9:00 AM.

The second half of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 26 encounter against Katsina United resumed on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium with

Rivers United leading 1-0 against Katsina United from an Ubong Friday 17th minute goal. ⚽ 

The second half did not give us nail biting moment with both sides sizing themselves with some strings of passes and possessions.

Rivers United having led at the first half had to be cautious so as not to be caught on a counter while Katsina United hobbled and puffed with some few chances but couldn’t muster any chances of their own.

At 90 + 2 mins Katsina United had a glorious chance to level the game and share the point but the ball hit the cross bar and the final whistle was blown and Rivers United took all three points.
