
Argentinian youth star 19 years Claudio Echeverri Officially Joins Manchester City after signing with the team in January 2024. He spent the last year on loan at River Plate as part of the agreement.
Echeverri, an attacking midfielder, recently played in the South American under-20 Championship, where he scored six goals in nine games for Argentina.
Txiki Begiristain, Man City’s director of football, praised Echeverri as “one of the finest talents to emerge from South America in recent years.”
Echeverri himself is excited about the move, saying it’s a dream come true to play for one of the best teams in Europe. He admires Manchester City’s winning record and beautiful style of play.
He has signed a contract until 2028 and will be part of City’s squad for the rest of the season.
Manchester City added youth to their squad in the recent transfer window, spending over $200 million on five players: Nico Gonzalez, Abdukodir Khusanov, Vitor Reis, Christian McFarlane, and Omar Marmoush.

Manager Pep Guardiola mentioned that bringing in new players might mean some older players who have had trouble with injuries might leave the team.
