The final, to be held at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey (renamed New York New Jersey Stadium for the event) on July 19, 2026, promises to be an unforgettable spectacle. Infantino confirmed the news via Instagram, stating it would be a “historic moment” and a show worthy of the world’s biggest sporting event.
While details are still under wraps, the halftime break will likely be extended to accommodate the performance.
Infantino also revealed plans for FIFA to take over Times Square during the final weekend, celebrating both the final and the third-place match.
With the US known for its extravagant halftime shows, like those seen at the Super Bowl featuring stars such as Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Usher, Rihanna, and The Weeknd, this addition could draw in even more viewers.
Coldplay is reportedly assisting FIFA in selecting the performers for the halftime show and Times Square events. Infantino specifically thanked Chris Martin and Phil Harvey of Coldplay for their involvement.
