ALL ABOUT THE FORMULA ONE 2025 SEASON.

Not long ago, the lights went out at the iconic Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, where Dutchman Max Verstappen was crowned champion of the 2023/2024 Formula One season.

Now, a brand-new season is upon us, promising the usual excitement, glamour, and drama that define Formula One. Familiar faces are back on track to deliver another thrilling season. Among the most notable developments during the off-season was Lewis Hamilton’s high-profile move from Mercedes to Ferrari, a switch that has sparked significant intrigue.

Key questions loom as the 2025 season begins: Can Sir Lewis Hamilton still claim another championship? Will Max Verstappen continue his dominance? Could this be the year George Russell, Sergio Pérez, or Charles Leclerc breaks Verstappen’s streak? And who will emerge victorious in the Constructors’ Championship—Red Bull, Mercedes, McLaren, Ferrari, or perhaps an underdog like Aston Martin or Honda?

Formula One: The 2025 Season Overview

The 2025 Formula One calendar features 24 races spanning from March to December. Australia will host the season opener on Sunday, March 16, two weeks later than in 2024. Bahrain, which has traditionally opened the season since 2021, moves to April due to Ramadan. Saudi Arabia also shifts to April, while China and Japan have been moved forward to become the second and third races of the season.

The season will conclude on December 7 in Abu Dhabi. The British Grand Prix is scheduled for July 4-6.

Pre-Season Testing

Pre-season testing will take place in Bahrain from February 26-28, offering teams three days to fine-tune their cars before racing begins.

Calendar Adjustments

Several calendar changes have been made for 2025:

  • A triple-header in April includes Japan, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia.
  • Spain moves forward by three weeks to late May/early June.
  • Belgium and Hungary have swapped weekends, with Budapest now hosting the final race before the summer break.
  • This year will feature a four-week autumn gap for the last time; starting next year, there will be just one week between Singapore and Austin in October.
